St. James the Apostle Parish

Bible Study

Our parish Bible Study on Monday nights and Tuesday mornings will take a recess for the summer.  We plan to resume our weekly sessions again in September.

In the meantime this summer, try reading the Bible for a few minutes each day. Where should you begin? Why not use the daily Mass readings? They will help you to read a passage from the Old and New Testament each day, placing readings in their proper context within the liturgical year and life of the Church.  The references for the readings are in the bulletin each week.  Or you can find them online at various Catholic websites, e.g., the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, www.usccb.org/bible.  You will also find a commentary there to help you interpret and understand the readings, as well as a link to a short 2-minute video reflection on the readings, www.usccb.org/bible/reflections. Give it a try! Bet you’ll like it!!
